Giving
As I sewed cute clothes for my new grandson, I thought of how much this little boy has already been materially blessed. He absolutely should receive beautiful and practical things, but I thought of the less fortunate. I recalled my husband's coworker, who lost everything in a winter house fire; it was the first day of his brand new job. I thought of women fleeing to emergency shelters, taking almost nothing but the children. I recalled the struggles of my younger self: how much more difficult my situations would have been, had a baby been in the picture! While I am happy to sew beautiful clothes for women clients, I believe Swan's Land Project is about more than making a living or earning profits. There are people in my area who are in difficult situations, and I can use my sewing skills to assist.
The Mission
Kathy Arms is sewing blankets and clothing, in infant sizes. In coordination with local outreach organizations, these will be distributed, throughout the year, to displaced and impoverished families in central Ohio.
How to Help
Swan's Land Community of Friends is an idea of Kathy Arms, where people come together, in big and small ways, to create a new and cooperative way of living. We will share as the heart calls, and honor the gifts and talents of our diverse bunch. We all have unique, divine assignments.
